Atomic Wallet raises red flags in viral $479k Monero loss claim

Atomic Wallet Disputes $479,000 Monero Loss Claim

Wallet provider finds "no verifiable proof" for a user's claim of 633 XMR missing tokens.

Atomic Wallet submitted an online report stating they cannot confirm claims that a user lost 633 Monero (XMR) tokens, worth approximately $479,000. The dispute emerged after a user named "Nicolas van Saberhagen" claimed his balance dropped to zero in real time.

"So this just happened. Opened Atomic this morning, watched my XMR balance go to zero in real time... The app showed a nice little banner: ‘Your funds are safe.’" — Complainant’s statement.
