Core developers resolve the technical issue that halted transactions and froze over $1 billion in network value.

The Sui blockchain, a rapidly growing cryptocurrency network, has been restored and is now operational after nearly six hours of downtime. The outage that began in the afternoon halted transactions and froze over $1 billion in value on the network.

Official Statement from Sui Foundation

"The Sui network is now back and fully operational. Transactions are flowing normally... We will share a full incident review in the coming days."

The team began investigating at 2:52 pm UTC and resolved it at 8:44 pm UTC, totaling an outage of 5 hours and 52 minutes. The incident was described as a “Consensus outage,” a technical issue preventing the confirmation of transactions.

Context of Sui Network Outages

This is the second severe outage for Sui since its May 2023 launch; the first occurred in November 2024. Despite the pause, SUI token price briefly jumped by 4% upon the news before stabilizing at $1.84.
