Taiwan’s Investigation Bureau has sent singer Nine Chen to the prosecutors' office on suspicion of aggravated fraud and banking law violations linked to the HK$1.6 billion JPEX exchange scandal.
Chen reportedly received 320,000 USDT to act as JPEX’s brand ambassador. While he was initially summoned as a witness, he has since been listed as a defendant. Chen claims his personal investment losses through the platform exceeded his endorsement earnings, with his assets losing about 15% of their value.
The investigation follows the arrest of dozens of suspects in Hong Kong as authorities move to address one of the region's largest crypto-related fraud cases.
